Rumex sanguineus

An undemanding, highly ornamental perennial. It forms compact clumps of leaves, whose green leaf blades are woven with a network of carmine-colored veins. Young leaves have a flavor similar to sorrel leaves. They are a rich source of beta-carotene, which slows down the aging process, as well as rutin, which seals and strengthens blood vessels. Sow 1 cm deep from April–June or August, directly into the ground.
