Queen of May butterhead lettuce
An early variety intended for early cultivation in open ground and under cover. It forms large, tightly closed, spherical heads with firm leaves. Fairly resistant to downy mildew and moderately resistant to gray mold. Yields well in the second year after manure application, in warm, well-aerated, sufficiently moist soils. Sow in spring (April–May) for an autumn harvest in August.
