Physalis peruviana
An undemanding annual plant, recommended for amateur cultivation in pots as both an edible and ornamental plant. Plants grow to a height of 0.5–1 m and are highly branched. The orange-yellow fruits (4–5 g) are surrounded by lantern-like husks. The fruits are helpful in treating atherosclerosis and have anti-allergic, antifungal, anticancer
, and anti-ulcer properties. Sow in March–April under cover. Transplant seedlings to their permanent location from mid-May to June.
