Origanum majorana
annual plant. Fresh and dried marjoram leaves are used as a seasoning for meat, cold cuts, soups, etc. It aids digestion. An infusion made from the plant is used for headaches, colds, and indigestion. Sow in mid-March in a warm cold frame. Transplant to the ground in early May, planting 2–3 plants together. Requires fertile, humus-rich, sufficiently moist soil.
