A stately annual plant with decorative burgundy-green, palmate leaves. The flowers are small, clustered in large, dense, burgundy inflorescences. It looks excellent as a specimen plant on lawns and in garden groups. Sow seeds in March–April in a cold frame. Transplant to a permanent location in the second half of May. Requires humus-rich soil, abundant watering
