• Sulfur is one of the most commonly used raw materials in the chemical industry and plays an important role in the proper development of all types of plants. For crops, it is a component involved in proper nutrition and also plays a significant role in their protection. Sulfur is actually used much more as a protective agent than as a nutrient that determines the size and quality of the crop.
• Sulfur is used to disinfect greenhouses against pests.
• The method of fumigating facilities is fast, effective, and very easy to use. This disinfection method effectively eliminates pests. When applied before flowering, it inhibits the development of apple rust and spider mites. It plays a significant role in protecting apple trees, especially against the most serious disease—apple scab. When using the fumigation method, apply approximately 20–40 g of sulfur per cubic meter of space.
• Granulated sulfur is also used to acidify the soil when growing plants that require an acidic substrate, such as rhododendrons, azaleas, heathers, and highbush blueberries.
