Brand new, high-quality pH and chlorine level meter for water. This tester is useful in professional aquariums and in water treatment applications. It can also be used to check the chlorine level in your home pool. The device is very easy to use. It allows for accurate and clear measurement of water acidity and chlorine content. It does not require an external power source (mains electricity), but only a single 1.5V AA battery, making it extremely portable and safe for use in water.
Usage:
Before using this tester for the first time, you must calibrate it for your pool or spa water in the following order:
1. Test the water in your pool or spa using a conventional liquid test kit
2. Note the chlorine reading as needed.
3. No pH adjustment is required.
How to find the adjustment point for the chlorine test:
1. Insert one 1.5 V AA battery into the compartment in the handle.
2. Hold the tester in one hand and the probe in the other.
3. Place the cleaned metal probes into the water up to the black line.
4. Gently stir the water with the probe.
5. While keeping the probe in the water, turn the dial on the tester all the way to the left toward “Cl.” Slowly turn the dial back to the right until the needle aligns with the chlorine level recorded using a conventional liquid tester (e.g., 1.5 ppm).
6. Remove the probe from the water without touching the dial. The indicator will move all the way to the right and stop on a letter between “a” and “e.” This letter is your “calibration point.”
Note: Every time you use this tester to test the chlorine level, you must calibrate it to the “calibration point” before testing.
Testing chlorine levels:
Recommended chlorine level for pools and spas: 1.2 ~ 1.7 ppm
1. Set the needle to your “calibration point.”
2. Holding the tester in one hand and the probes in the other, insert the probes into the water up to the black line. Wait for the needle to settle for a more accurate chlorine reading.
3. Leave the test strips in the water.
Test the pH level:
Recommended pH level for pools and spas: 7.2–7.8
1. With the probes still in the water, turn the dial all the way to “pH” until it clicks (the battery must be turned off to read pH).
2. Wait until the needle stops at the pH reading.
3. Gently dry the probes and place them in the holder on the side of the tester for storage.
