Brassica rapa L. subsp. pekinensis

A variety with broad, succulent white leaf stalks, eaten raw as an addition to salads or after cooking. Ready for harvest after just 5–6 weeks of growth. Sow seeds directly into the ground from mid-July to mid-August in rows spaced 30 cm apart, at a depth of 1 cm. After emergence, thin plants to 25–30 cm apart in the row . Grows well in fertile, moist soil. Tolerates frosts down to -5°C.
