Mole netting is the most effective solution to the problem of mole mounds. It protects your lawn extremely effectively by preventing moles from breaking through to the surface. Thanks to the protective mesh at ground level, you’ll avoid unsightly holes in your garden. The mesh should be placed in the ground at a depth of approx. 10 cm before sowing a new lawn. Since the turf is laid immediately, the mesh is placed directly under the new grass.
Mole tunnels are generally located between 40 and 80 cm below the ground surface; the mesh prevents the mole from creating its tunnel system, causing it to permanently leave the protected area of the garden.
Installation:
1. Dig up the lawn to a depth of 5–10 cm.
2. Spread the unrolled mesh evenly over the area you want to protect.
If you are laying the mesh in sections, make sure the edges overlap by about 10–15 cm.
3. Secure the mesh to the ground using stakes, driving them firmly into the ground about 1 m apart at the joints and edges of the mesh.
Leave about 10 cm of space from the edges. Any excess mesh can be trimmed later with scissors.
4. Cover the mesh with a compacted layer of soil about 10 cm thick. Sow the lawn.
