Scarlet Beauty bearded carnation
Dianthus barbatus is an easy-to-grow , undemanding, evergreen perennial. It reaches a height of 50 cm. It has beautiful, fragrant, fiery red flowers clustered in umbel-like inflorescences. It blooms in the second year after sowing, from June to August. Excellent for flower beds, borders in rock gardens and country gardens, for group plantings, and as a cut flower. Sow seeds in May–June. Plant seedlings in September, 20x30 cm apart. Thrives in any soil. Sunny or partial shade location.
