The Paulownia, also known as the Imperial Tree, is a highly decorative tree resistant to air pollution. It grows quickly (up to 2–3 meters per year), forming a wide, spherical crown. It can absorb ten times more CO2 than most trees. It produces very large leaves and fragrant purple-pink flowers, arranged in long, 30-centimeter panicles.
This is a very interesting plant that is visually appealing all year round. It is ideal as a specimen plant, for group plantings, or as a backdrop for other plants, including shrubs, trees, and perennials. Completely resistant to frost and freezing temperatures, it can withstand a drop in temperature
down to –22°C. When grown in a pot, the paulownia is also suitable for bonsai —its stems are flexible and easy to shape as desired; they can be pruned year-round, making it easy to give the plant the desired form.

Sow in March–June or August–October.

Gently pat the seeds into the soil; they germinate in light. Keep them under cover during their first winter.
